One of our favorite families from Pennsylvania were the Owens.
On Richard's last meal of his mission, he requested breakfast.
Jen Owen's gave him a meal he wouldn't forget.
Since we were married he often brings it up because of how delicious it was.
His favorite part? The Coconut Syrup.
The Owen's eventually moved to Utah.
We visited them as quickly as we could.
I HAD to ask for her syrup recipe so that Richard could stop talking about it.
She not only gave it to me, but made us a fresh pot.
Thank you Jen.
Breakfast has never been the same.
Jen Owen's Coconut Syrup
1/2 c butter
1 c sugar
1/2 c buttermilk
1/2 tsp coconut extract
1/2 tsp baking soda
Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
Add sugar and bring to a low boil.
Add buttermilk, extract, and soda while whisking.
Reduce heat to low until ready to serve.
{I usually double the recipe}
*strawberries sold separately.
