Today's menu: Beef and Veggies.
We mostly ate the WONDER SOUP with beef chunks and TACO SALAD.
It was pretty good.
But, I have a confession...
When I woke up this morning I was shaking.
My hands were visibly trembling.
I ate breakfast and nothing changed.
It made me a little nervous.
Then Richard confessed to me that his eyesight was getting blurry.
Richard gets his eyes checked as often as I do,
and they are always perfect.
So this was also strange.
Then later in the day the blurry eyes had started showing flashing of light
on the corners of his eyes.
CRAZY EH?
So needless to say, we had a discussion about our little detox.
It was supposed to be helping us.
But we felt like it was a little bit too much.
I understand the fruits and veggies.
I understand the water and the milk.
But beef? ALL THE TIME?
We are supposed to live by moderation in all things.
So, tomorrow, we will be resuming our regular life style.
Sorry Day 7...
We will still eat some brown rice... but I won't be having beef...
I will say this. . .
I enjoyed resetting my cravings, especially for sugar.
I do feel a difference there.
I do enjoy experimenting how to use more fruits and vegetables in my diet.
I made barbecue sauce from scratch!
That's awesome!
I honestly hope that I continue a very rigid water consumption.
BUT. . .
I miss breakfast!
Beef stew is NOT breakfast.
I miss nuts and grains and breads.
I think those are important in our diets as well.
I need more variety in my diet.
We were told that by today our energy levels would be BURSTING
"EMBRACE YOUR NEW FOUND ENERGY!" the website said.
Uhhhhhhh I don't feel it. I'm still very tired and have been all week.
I'm doing this as well as I understand it,
and I'm not feeling the amazing energy results.
I did lose six pounds. But I wasn't trying too.
This was just an experiment and now we know.
And you do too.
Would I suggest this diet/detox?
Not really.
I DO suggest DETOX in general, but this particular venue just isn't for me.
There are lots of options and suggestions out there.
Gwyneth Paltrow does a great option over at goop.com
And that's only one of many.
So, I hope that eventually, when I feel the need to cleanse my palate again,
I can find something more fruitful without any negative side effects.
