I adapted this recipe from the Quaker's lid of my oatmeal.
{and than add CHILI POWDER!}
OATMEAL COOKIES
1/2 c + 6 TBS of butter softened at room temperature
3/4 c brown sugar
1/2 c sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 3/4 c flour {I used Whole Wheat}
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp chili powder*
1/2 tsp salt
3 cup Old Fashioned Oats
1 cup Hershey's cinnamon chips
1 cup Hershey's milk chocolate chips
1/2 c pecans {optional}
Cream butter and sugar together until really fluffy.
Add eggs and vanilla.
In a separate bowl, stir together the flour, soda, cinnamon, chili powder, and salt.
Slowly add to the butter mixture.
Stir in oats, chips and nuts, if desired.
Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
*Don't be scared of the chili powder.
Texans have been putting it in chocolate cake forEVER.
It add very slight spice...
If you don't want to add it, you don't have too,
you know if you don't want your cookies to be AWESOME!
It's good for your heart anyway.
See? Healthy!
