My mom made great Snickerdoodles
Usually my recipes are swipped from somewhere else,
but this is an actual, hand-written family recipe.
I only added the chips...
{wink}
SNICKERDOODLES WITH CINNAMON CHIPS
1/2 c butter at room temperature
1 1/2 c flour, divided
1 c sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
1/4 c Hershey's white chocolate chips
1/2 c Hershey's cinnamon chips
For Rolling the Dough balls:
2 T sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Whip the butter until light and fluffy.
Add 3/4 c flour and all the sugar.
Add the egg, vanilla, soda, and tartar,
Add the rest of the flour and the chips.
-now this is the lame part-
you have to chill in the fridge for an hour.
I know, but really you have too.
I lost like half my dough this way though,
because we kept picking at it.
Then you roll the chilled dough into balls,
roll in the sugar and cinnamon combo
and place on a cookie sheet.
Bake at 375 for about 8-9 minutes.
You don't want to over cook so that they can be really soft.
They really sparkle with that sugar.
And let me just say that I made a batch tonight,
I only ended up with 20 cookies, because we lost a lot of dough,
and all of those 20 cookies are now gone.
So either the cookies are THAT delicious,
or we are out of control.
Both, I imagine.
